It's Time To Redefine The Patient-Therapist Contract

Today's healthcare landscape has become complicated and often difficult to navigate. Healthcare reform has started to shift upfront costs to consumers, which means higher co-pays per visit and sky-high deductibles. On the flip side of the equation, providers are continuing to see decreasing reimbursement from insurance companies and need higher patient volumes to keep up. In this environment, everyone loses and the most important facet of healthcare gets lost--quality!

In order to provide quality care to the patients we treat, we needed to redefine the patient-therapist contract.

The Answer: Taking the restrictive parameters that insurance companies place on both patients and providers out of the equation through a cash-based model, MVMT 360 Physical Therapy provides one-on-one treatment to patients for a flat cash rate. We also provide concierge-style treatments that take place at the patient's home, gym, or place of business to make the process as convenient and flexible as possible. When patients get the one-on-one attention they deserve it dramatically impacts positive treatment outcomes as well as elevating the quality of care.

MVMT 360 Physical Therapy does not direct bill your insurance provider and as a result, we have the freedom to provide longer visits and customized, one-on-one treatment that is successful.

Patients will be able to independently submit all treatment done by MVMT 360 Physical Therapy to their insurance company for reimbursement or to be applied to a deductible. A receipt will be supplied after each treatment with all the necessary information.

Do I need a referral from a physician?

Yes and No

Recently, the state of Texas passed new legislation allowing Physical Therapists to evaluate patients without a referral and provide treatment for a limited number of days if the PT meets the following criteria:

  1. In order to provide treatment without a script/referral to a patient for ten consecutive business days, the PT must possess a doctoral degree in physical therapy or have completed thirty continuing competence units in differential diagnosis. If a PT with a doctoral degree has completed a fellowship or residency, the number increases to 15 consecutive business days.
  2. All patients without a referral must sign a disclosure from prior to treatment.

All Therapists at MVMT 360 Physical Therapy have completed a 3 year Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowship Program in addition to their Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
